Bridal Skin Prep

We've put together a list of essential steps to get your skin in shape before your wedding so you can look effortlessly radiant and picture-perfect on your big day. #AspectBrides

Book a skin consultation

It is best to book a skin consultation 6-12 months out to allow plenty of time to get your skin in tip top shape. Your Skin Therapist will create a customised 6-month treatment and home care plan to ensure you get the best results possible. Many clinics have wedding packages that you can choose from, or they will create one bespoke to you.

Start your wedding skin prep program

Treatment type and frequency will vary dependent on your skin type, concerns, lifestyle and budget, however a combination of professional treatments along with a curated home care regime will assist with achieving a healthy looking, radiant complexion. Don’t worry if you only have a couple of months to go, contact your nearest clinic as soon as possible and they can guide you on your treatment and homecare program until the big day.

Incorporate the essentials

Cleansing the skin helps to remove makeup and thoroughly frees skin of embedded dirt, excess oil and environmental pollutants without stripping the skin. Arguably the most important step in your skincare routine.

Hydrating Serum

Binds moisture and replenishes hydration. A must for all skin types.

Super PD Complex

A luxurious serum that visibly reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, evens out skin tone and texture and boosts hydration for a more youthful looking complexion.

Extreme B 17

Is there anything this powerhouse serum can’t do?! Formulated with B vitamins to help prevent dehydration, even out skin tone and balance excess oil, your skin will appear radiant, plump and more youthful.

An important step for all skin types. Aspect moisturisers deliver a surge of hydration to reveal smoother, more vibrant looking skin.

Talk to your skin therapist about the best options for your skin.

Sun Protection

A little reminder that SPF is important all year round, so get into the habit of applying your favourite Aspect Sun product. For those who like a glow with a little colour-correcting pigment, we recommend CC Cream SPF 50+; if you prefer a little more hydration, Hydrating Face SPF 50+ is the perfect match and suitable for all skin types and for those who prefer a more matte finish, go for Envirostat Face SPF 50.

Develop healthy habits

Getting into a good routine with healthy habits now will help you feel your best in the lead up to and on your wedding day. Drink plenty of H20, move your body for at least 30 minutes every day, get your beauty sleep and up your fruit and veggie intake. Did we mention not to pick your face?! Keep a Stop Spot in your handbag for any pesky pimples that pop up along the way – resist the urge to squeeze! Thank us later.

Stay consistent

As you move through the seasons in the lead up to your wedding day, your skin may change along the way. It is important to stay consistent with the essentials and if you have any concerns, reach out to your Skin Therapist who can give you guidance. It can be a stressful time as you tick off the growing to-do list in readiness for the wedding and this often shows on your skin. Thankfully Aspect Professional clinics are armed with all the treatments and home care products to assist you along the way. They will adjust your program to suit, ensuring your needs are always taken into account.

Look after the skin on your body

Sometimes we are so focused on the skin on our face that we forget the importance of the skin on the rest of our body. Illuminating Polish and Hand & Body Cream are essential to achieving smooth, hydrated skin on the body. Use Illuminating Polish 2-3 times a week and apply Hand & Body Cream liberally as required.

Pay particular attention to your décolletage, as this can show the signs of sun damage and ageing. Aspect serums can be used on the face, neck and décolletage and other areas of concern, so be sure to bring your products down onto these areas to ensure the skin is hydrated and visibly brighter.

R & R

Book yourself in for a relaxing hydrating facial – now is not the time to have a strong Salicylic or Vitamin A based peel, nor is it time to try something new. Stick to the ‘tried and tested’ and have a relaxing hydrating facial. Not only will it help you to relax, it will also assist with soothing, calming and hydrating your skin, ensuring you are ready to shine on the big day.

Wedding day skin kit

Aspect kits are perfect to pack for your wedding day as they have all of the essentials – our pick is the Starter Kit that contains 30ml Purastat 5 Cleanser, 15ml Extreme C 20, 15ml Exfol L and a 15g Phytostat 9 moisturiser. Add a Hydrating Lip Balm and you’re good to go!  Aspect Try Me Kits are a lovely gift for your bridesmaids and are great to use on the day too.

Keep a bottle of Micellar Water handy along with some cotton tips for little makeup touch-ups along the way. Happy tears are a regular feature on wedding days and we wouldn’t want you to get caught out with panda eyes on your special day!

Full body exfoliation

If you plan to self-tan, make sure you prep your skin by exfoliating from top to toe with Illuminating Polish, our triple action exfoliant that contains enzymes, AHA’s and Ecoscrub. Pay close attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and ankles.

Pep Up

The day you have been waiting for has finally arrived! For a last minute pep up we recommend using Fruit Enzyme Mask, followed by an application of Probiotic Mask. This dynamic duo will leave your skin plump, hydrated and absolutely glowing.

Makeup Skin Prep

Prior to makeup application, prep the skin with Hydrating Serum and Super PD Complex and follow with your Aspect moisturiser to lock in moisture. If your wedding is outdoors, make sure to apply a broad spectrum SPF after your serums. Our pick is Aspect Sun Envirostat Face SPF 50 as it provides a fantastic base for makeup application.

Feeling nervous? Take a micro moment to yourself and massage in Hand & Body Cream into your hands and cuticles, taking your time to massage each finger and taking deep breaths. A little mindfulness tip to help you create some calm.
