Get That Glow

INTRODUCING ILLUMINATING POLISH

Aspect™ Skincare is excited to introduce Illuminating Polish. A triple-action exfoliant that combines Ecoscrub®, enzymes and AHA's to gently polish the skin removing lifeless cells, instantly revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion.

So why do you need it?!

Glowing skin! Need we say more? If you need any other reason to try the new Aspect™ Illuminating Polish let this be it. Our skin has its own natural exfoliation process called desquamation. Desquamation is the natural process in which skin cells are created, sloughed away and replaced. This process happens in the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin, and occurs approximately every 30 days.

However, as we age, the skin’s ability to slough away lifeless cells slows down, leading to a build-up of dead skin cells. Not only can this lead to a dry, dull complexion or blocked pores and congestion, it can also inhibit your skincare from penetrating, limiting the benefits and slowing results!

This is when exfoliating comes in, to assist in removing the build-up of lifeless cells, illuminate complexion and prepare the skin for application of active ingredients to maximise results! (YAY!)

When it comes to exfoliating there are three types, all with a different action.

Physical Exfoliation

Physical exfoliants are granular ingredients that manually (or mechanically) remove dead skin cells. A physical exfoliant can be used on both face and body and is ideal pre or post fake tan. When choosing a physical exfoliant, a fine, biodegradable ingredient is recommended as it is kind to your skin, and the environment.

Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliants are ingredients that cause a chemical reaction to break down the “glue” that adheres dead skin cells to the skin’s surface. The most common types of chemical exfoliants are alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta-hydroxy acids (BHA), and poly-hydroxy acids (PHAs). When choosing a chemical exfoliant it is important to think about the acid use and percentage included in the formula. In high percentages, these ingredients are the most popular in professional peels.

Enzymatic Exfoliation

Enzymatic exfoliants come from natural sources like fruits. Dead skin cells contain keratin protein. Enzymes work to specifically break down this protein slowly, allowing dead skin cells to slough off, smoothing and softening. The most common Enzymes used to exfoliate are pineapple (bromelain) and papaya (papain) enzymes.

THE POWER OF THREE

If you, like us, are overwhelmed with excitement and want to use them all…you can!

Aspect™ Illuminating Polish combines the benefits of Physical, Chemical and Enzymatic exfoliation into a powerhouse exfoliant suitable for all skin types.

Key ingredients are:

Ecoscrub® | Naturally derived and 100% biodegradable, Ecoscrub® is a fine powder that gently polishes the skin surface to remove lifeless cells.

Lactic Acid | A hydrating Alpha-Hydroxy Acid that helps break down the extracellular matrix that adheres dead skin cells to the skin’s surface, refining and smoothing the skin’s texture.

Papaya Extract | A fruit enzyme, rich in anti-oxidants that works to specifically break down keratin protein in dead skin cells to exfoliate.

Illuminating Polish is ideal for both face and body use. After cleansing, in circular motions, gently massage a pearl sized amount over face. Remove with a damp cloth using a gentle, sweeping action and follow with application of Aspect™ serums and moisturiser. Try incorporating the Illuminating Polish into your daily skincare regime 2-3 times a week.

The Illuminating Polish is ideal for body use too! It is perfect on especially dry areas like elbows or knees and is great for preparing skin prior to fake tan application and to assist in removal.

So, GLOW on, what are you waiting for?!
